The US Food and Drugs Administration said the Creamy Salted Valencia Peanut Butter (sku 97111) was recalled by Trader Joe’s “because of potential contamination with Salmonella.”, as warrned by FDA. The recalled Creamy Salted Valencia Peanut Butter comes in a 16 ounce, plastic jar with an expiration date stamped below the lid, the FDA further said, adding that all code dates up to and including July 26, 2013 are included in the recall. “Production and distribution of the item has been suspended while the FDA and the Valencia Peanut Butter supplier continue their investigations,” the notice said. Meanwhile, Mexico-based company Sunland Inc., which reportedly manufactures and packages the Trader Joe’s product, likewise recalled 76 types of peanut butter and almond butter. A Sunland spokeswoman explained they’re doing the recall as the peanut and almond butters were manufactured with the same equipment as the Trader Joe’s product.

Does White Rice cause Diabetes? According to the report from AFP, Health researchers said on Thursday they had found a troubling link between higher consumption of rice and Type 2 diabetes, a disease that in some countries is becoming an epidemic. A study out of Harvard University has found that healthy young men who indulge in junk food binges are putting their fertility at risk. And those who ate foods high in trans fats -- like deep-fried and processed foods -- fared the worst.
