Monstera Borsigiana Aurea Price Update and Care Tips

The Monstera Borsigiana Albo is one of the most wanted plants for rare plant collectors due to the beauty of its foliage. The leaf design and color of variegated Borsigiana Albo with good genes is very captivating. There are some genes that are tri-color, a combination of white, green and yellow foliage. I bought my Monstera Borsigiana Albo early 2022 for P6500 per leaf. From 2020 to 2021, the price of one leaf of Borsi Aurea cost P50,000 and dropped in 2022 for P10,000 per leaf. As of March 2023, the price of one leaf medium-sized Borsigiana Aurea is P2,500 to P3,500 depending on the quality of its variegation.  CareTips and Propagation:  For soil mixture, you can use, a soil-less medium or loam soil. For a soilless mixture, just mixed coco peat, coco cubes and pumice or rice hull. Let the aerial roots crawl on the plant pole to activate its aerial roots before cutting and transplanting. In this way, you give the newly cut plant a more chance to thrive. Placed the newly prop...

How I Grew Date palm in my Backyard in Philippines

Before I was hesitant to buy the tree from the supplier from Nueva Ecija since I am not sure if Palm Date can actually grow here although it should because the Philippines is a tropical country. I have seen a lot of Date palm trees in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in United Arab Emirates and the fruit when ripe has a great sweet taste. I need to buy two plants since the date palm is dioecious, having separate male and female plants. They can be easily grown from seed, but only 50% of seedlings will be female and hence fruit-bearing, and dates from seedling plants are often smaller and of poorer quality. Most commercial plantations thus use cuttings of heavily cropping cultivars. Plants grown from cuttings will fruit 2–3 years earlier than seedling plants.  Now as you can see in the photos below, my Date palm is only 3 ft in height but it already bears fruits. This is a grafted tree (draft version) which I bought for Php 1500 for each plant. Date trees reach up to 30 meters (100...

Monstera Tricolor Mint Price and Care Tips

The price of Monstera Mint Tricolor before is P100,000 for only one leaf, now you can but 2 to 3 leaves for only P40,000. By the end of the year the price might drop to P5,000 to P10,000 for a plnat. To maintain a good variegaton you need to place the plant in a high humid and bright indirect sunlight. Use thermocote fertilizer as it is excellent for variegated plants.  Thermocote is a temperature controlled release plant food specially formulated for variegated plants. It is released only when it’s optimal for plants to take in nutrients for fast growth & development. Thermocote helps keep plant variegation and may help bring back variegation of reverted plants. Here’s an example. My Florida Beauty sprouted a reverted leaf. Thankfully, variegation came back after use of Thermocote! Usage: 5grams for every liter of your favorite media. Apply once every 5 months. Recommendation: Put Thermocote in a basket or put on one side of the pot. Wet it when watering your plants. Use coco...
