The US Food and Drugs Administration said the Creamy Salted Valencia Peanut Butter (sku 97111) was recalled by Trader Joeās ābecause of potential contamination with Salmonella.ā, as warrned by FDA. The recalled Creamy Salted Valencia Peanut Butter comes in a 16 ounce, plastic jar with an expiration date stamped below the lid, the FDA further said, adding that all code dates up to and including July 26, 2013 are included in the recall. āProduction and distribution of the item has been suspended while the FDA and the Valencia Peanut Butter supplier continue their investigations,ā the notice said. Meanwhile, Mexico-based company Sunland Inc., which reportedly manufactures and packages the Trader Joeās product, likewise recalled 76 types of peanut butter and almond butter. A Sunland spokeswoman explained theyāre doing the recall as the peanut and almond butters were manufactured with the same equipment as the Trader Joeās product.
