Brooke Burke-Charvet talks about her Thyroid Cancer

Brooke Burke-Charvet gets real about cancer and her thyroid diagnosis.

Brooke Burke Charvet, co-host of “Dancing With the Stars,” announced in a video Thursday, November 8, that she has thyroid cancer and will undergo surgery soon.

The good thing is Brooke thinks and feels very optimistic about everything during this trying time in her life.

“Here's the way I see it...I’m just going to make a positive out of this negative thing and I’m going to be a really good patient and I’m going to do everything that I need to do...and I’ve booked my surgery,” she said in the video.

"Brooke, I had thyroid cancer when I was 25,I am now 56, I honestly have never considered my self a cancer survivor since I just had to do what I had to do.I had a 1 yr old daughter. The scar can be hidden with a good surgeon.My does not even show. Yes its scary,but its true if your going to get cancer,thyroids the one to get. The biggest downside is the fatigue.Stay strong and good luck..."
