Chef Jessie Sincioco has made the past three days as she was given the enviable task of preparing the meals of the visiting Pontiff, with the help of the Apostolic Nunciature staff.
According to Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle, Pope Francis already had an idea of common Pinoy dishes because he has a lot of Filipino servants in the Vatican. The pontiff was given a list of menu and names of famous cooks in the Philippines including “Kusina Master’ Chef Boy Logro.
Some of the nation’s top chefs and caterers have been asked to prepare food for Pope Francis’ five-day visit.
According to the report from Philstar.com, Pope managed to have a quick lunch with several survivors of Super Typhoon Yolanda, tasting distinctively Filipino dishes of malunggayor moringa soup and adoboalong with the Visayan preparation of chicken called inasal – which the meat is marinated in turmeric, lemon grass and other flavorings before being grilled.
