Most Popular Rare Plants in the Philippines- Price Update 2023

During the pandemic, people tend to become more "horticulturists" as they engage themselves to planting and collecting rare plants from Thailand, China, Hooland (The Netherland) and Ecuador.

In the Philippines prices of  Monstera Delciosa green and Thai Constellation in 2020 skyrocketed to five thousand peso  and twenty thousand pesos for the medium size with only 2 leaves respectively. But before the pandemic according to real collectors. who's collecting rare plants prior to the pandemic, the price of  Monstera Thai Constellation for medium size is only nine hundred pesos.

I am not aware of the price of Variegated Philodendron Billitiae but during the peak of a pandemic the price of one leaf cost staggering two hundred thousand peso per leaf, and as much as four hundred thousand peso for one leafer Monstera Adansonii Albo.

You cannot imagine how the price of plants multiplied due to limited stocks and limited importation due to heightened alerts in terminals.

Nowadays you can buy Monstera Adansonii Albo and Aurea for only one thousand for one leaf. One leaf of variegated Billitiae can now be bought for as low as fifteen thousand per leaf.

Here are the list of Rare plants with their price comparison then and now.

  • Variegated Billitiae- one leaf before is 200k to 300k now 15k to 25k.
  • Monstera Borsigian Albo- node only for 18k, one leaf before is 50k now one leafer for Php1,500.
  • Monstera Adansonii Albo and Aurea-one leaf before is 400k, now 1k.
  • Philodendron Caramel Marble- one leafer is 100k, now 20k.
  • Philodendron Spiritus Sancti- one leaf before is one million now 20k.

  • Philodendron Paraiso Verde- one leafer for 12k now 700 only.
  • Global Green Pothos- one leafer for 1,500 now lushed for only 200
  • Variegated Monstera Peru- one leafer for 12k now only 800 for a single leaf.
