Watch: I Tried MSG (Vetsin) as Fertilizer

I have seen a lot of Plant Vloggers using MSG or Vetsin as fertilizer on their plants and I have tried it myself.

Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is known as an “unhealthy” ingredient in most human foods if present in excess, but in plants, it has actually been used in many fertilizers. Many farms today now spray their crops with MSG to enrich growth and to ward off insects.

MSG is an excellent fertilizer for plants as it is high in nitrogen and minerals. When used as a plant nutrient, it can aid in healthy plant development, accelerate growth, and enhance the development of flowers and fruit. It can also be used to deter insects from plants.

How to Apply:
For small plants and those that are less than a year old, mix 1 to 2 tablespoons of MSG to 5-litre water. Apply once every two weeks. For bigger plants and those that are more than a year old, mix 5 tablespoons of MSG with 1-litre water. Apply once every two weeks.
