Ep.111 / Sept. 29, 2013- TAWILIS DUO - GINATAANG TAWILIS & FRIED TAWILIS WITH ASSORTED DIPS.
GINATAANG TAWILIS:
Ingredients:
¼ kilo tawilis, cleaned
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 thumbsized ginger, pounded
1 ½ cup coconut milk
3-4 pcs finger chilies, sliced½ teaspoon patispinch of ground black pepper
Procedure:
Place all ingredients in a skillet or small pot.
Place the skillet or pot on the stove and bring to a boil.
Lower fire and simmer for no more than 2 minutes. It is important that you do not simmer for longer than recommended as the meat of the fish is very tender.

FRIED TAWILIS WITH ASSORTED DIPS:
Ingredients
1/4 cup tawilis, cleaned
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
oil for deep frying
Vinegar Dipping Sauce:
1/2 cup vinegar
1 pc lime, juiced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 pc labuyo, chopped
1 tsp patis
1/2 pc red onion, chopped
pepper to taste
- Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
Tomato Ensalada:
3 pcs native tomatoes, diced
1 pc red onion, diced
2 pcs finger chili, sliced
salt and pepper
1 tbsp spring onion, chopped
1 tbsp cilantro, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 pc roasted eggplant, chopped
- Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
